Doesn't the guy just make stuff up?

Though it's plausible, I give you.

Truss also seems to have quite a bit of baggage, IDS is playing a big roll in her campaign so a Truss cabinet would probably feature IDS and many of the deadbeat ministers who Johnson has had in his cabinet for the last 3 years.
I can see Truss going backwards in the next round, losing a few to Badenoch, who might also pick up a few "fresh face" votes from Tudendhat. That would bring 3rd place into doubt for Truss.

I also don't get what the big issue with Mordaunt is for these people anyway.

He's a work of fiction himself.

It's largely a parody account, yes.

The story about Britain First endorsing Bad Enoch has been doing the rounds for a couple of hours and hasn't been denied yet.

No one has provided a link authenticating this press release (from Britain First urging their supporters with Tory membership to back Bad Enoch). No time for checking on the Express.

The Express is just quoting the press release and BF’s Twitter feed is putting laughing emojis next to the story. Kemi may have put it out to reassure Tory waverers.

Am I the only one who finds it insane that the Tory leadership process appears to be specifically designed to offer the members a choice between their two least popular options?

Least popular to you, not to them.

You may be misunderstanding how ignorant, bigoted and backward they are.

But that’s just it - it’s least popular to the membership too. It’s the parliamentary party deliberately showing people what they could have, then saying instead here are the options we want instead. It seems like a recipe to piss off your grassroots that’ll eventually bite them in the arse.

(They’re all awful, and the membership’s choice would be equally as shit as the parliamentary party’s one, of course)

Interesting take from Ian Dunt on why Sunak is playing so badly with Tory members. Basically if you wag your finger at Brexiters castigating them for toy town economics from Cloud Cuckoo Land, they’ll regard you as a heretic. A phenomenon Labour members know very well.

Rishi now seems to be turning his attention to rescuing the NHS. I can't remember if Johnson started showing an interest in the NHS before becoming Tory Party leader or after. He certainly spent a lot of time visiting hospitals in the run up to the 2019 election.
