I don't think any of us, in our wildest fantasies, thought it would end like this.

Shades of former England international Brian Marwood*

* He was regularly introduced as this when commentating on football matches. His international career was an 82nd minute substitute appearance against Saudi Arabia in Riyadh.

I suspect he will try and drag it out past May’s leaving date. Because he’s THAT petty.

Regardless, he’s done so much more damage even in the last day or so of ‘extra time’. It’s just a shame he can’t stay and finish the job :D

Remember Antonio Scaramucci, the Trump aide who lasted about a weekend? Well, seems we have Donelan. Went off faster than a pint of milk.

I don't feel much like celebrating. He hasn't managed to irrevocably fuck them up completely, and the next one will still be a Tory.

Do all the resignees get their jobs back? I guess it's easy to do that with all the PPSs and junior ministers, but what about Sunak and Javid? They've been replaced.

There's no precedent.

They might have to ask the remainer traitors of the civil service to sort it out...

He wasn't even Winston Churchill, the 80s-90s backbencher who they used to call "Young Winston".

Stolen from elsewhere:

"Every tory prime minister since Thatcher has now been forced to resign (apart from John Major but he barely limped to the 1997 election).

Why the hell do people think this is a stable party? They've absolutely robbed the country over the last 10 years and now our economy is in the worst position its been in since the 70s"

Wouldn’t shed too many tears if an ironic Spencer Perceval fan saw to it their hero moves up to 37.
