I did like how he said that on the same day Starmer said that all jobs offered to migrant workers had to meet the UK working standards.

Which I whole heartedly agree and which Goodwin completely ignores.

You remember that "left on economics" stuff, which Matt never fleshed out? Well, it turns out that it doesn't involve left stuff like redistribution.

But it does involve attacking international elites, rhetorically and via protectionism. Proven route to economic success that is.

I see he wants to compensate firms adversely affected by the move to protectionism. So free money for woke elites then, by his own logic. Where does the money for this come from? Or the money to spend much more on training British workers. Not from tax on higher earners?

As Sunder says, this only really makes sense in terms of a Farage political party, where nobody cares about contradictions. That's the next step, isn't it?

Who'd have thought it? The BLM protester, the food bank volunteer, the sensitive art student and the corporate raider? All woke elites.

The man who openly suggests the positives of Eugenics is however not part of the elite.

To give him the benefit of the doubt, I do feel under-represented on those issues in the media and in government. In that I think we need to grow immigration not blindly slash at it to hit arbitrary numbers oblivious to the harm we’re doing to the UK, that complaints about wokery are at best a feeble distraction from genuine issues and at best a gossamer-thin cover for outright bigotry, and that institutions and people that only promote a dated, narrow and usually bigoted expression of what it means to be British aren’t attacked nearly enough. And who's he talking about in number 3 there? The Government? Most of the moaning is about universities on that score. Is he suggesting doing an Orban/ De Santis on them? He probably is.

Probably will if they stay in power.

Even Trump was dismissing the word “woke”, probably more due to De Santis using it as every second word and him not inventing it.
