Yeah, I know. I meant that I expect the BBC agreed to carry on funding it as part of a deal with the government.
That's my understanding of it, but I'm happy to be corrected.

I'm old enough to remember when the Tories attacked John Prescott for his syntax (while there was rarely any doubt what he meant).

Compared to the Tory front bench, Prescott is Mark Anthony.

That sounds like a 'standard lines' briefing, garbled by someone who didn't understand it.

Run down the clock, get out alive, don't wank on screen, chalk it up as a success.

I really hope the family get some justice this time around.
Maybe it's worth reflecting.
If the Murdochs, the Met and the Tories are all obstructing you - you are on the side of the angels.

Of those 34 years, 13 were under a Labour government. How come no progress was made in this case then?

It's a fair question that I can't honestly answer without access to the timeline of all the enquiries.
I'm sure the popular answer revolves around a Labour government that stole Thatcher's clothes and was besties with uncle Rupert.

A 'popular' answer indeed - but does it have any substance in truth? Either way, the injustice has really gone on for far too long.

The suspects were put on trial in 2009 and the CPS (can you guess who was in charge?) didn't give up till 2011.
I don't think Labour can be blamed too much here.

The High Court has ruled that the Home Office's decision to house migrants in a "squalid" barracks in Folkestone was unlawful.
Six migrants claimed housing at Napier Barracks was "unsafe" and dormitory use caused a Covid-19 outbreak.
Lawyers said the accommodation in Kent breached human rights, but the Home Office said providing short-term housing there was lawful.
