Clash of the egos? If Andrew Neil did return, he'd surely be playing second fiddle on the channel that he launched, to a certain toad-faced grifter who seems to be the only one pulling in any viewing figures.

The schedule is evolving with the arrival of comedian Mark Dolan from talkRADIO and a suite of new shows placing a sharper focus on politics both at Westminster and in the regions.
Mark Dolan?

Neil is due back in September, apparently.
Assuming he comes back at the start of September, he'll have been off screen for four times as long as he's been on it by then.

Jesus Christ. Mark Dolan is on 9-12 Fri-Sun. 9 hours a week of that drivel.

Neil’s professional reputation could recover with his own podcast like Ed Miliband. Get the old gang of Abbot and Portillo back together. Reasons to be miserable.

September: There'll be enough hours of darkness for him to record his show and get back into his coffin before daylight.

He's one of the new big GB News hires, apparently. 9 hours a week. Think Neil is only supposed to be on for 5.

Mark Dolan describes himself as a comedian but like most other right wing comedians he is simply not funny. The best comedians are creative and have empathy qualities that are lacking in most right wingers.

He's like an antimatter Dara O'Briain
Dara: Smart, Funny, Knows Science
Mark: Unsmart, Unfunny, Misunderstands science.
But sometimes being anti-woke is all that matters.

Unfortunately reading some of the replies led me into the realm of minor thesp and failed musician Laurence Fox.
I now need to cleanse my phone with fire.

He was on the BBC till he was 79. That's more than a decent run for anyone, let alone someone with his previous.

Not a single example of this reign of PC terror at TMS.
Opinion:
Boycott strung out his "Wus beter in my day, stick of rhubarb" act for almost 4 decades.
Nice work if you can get it.
For the record:
Boycott announced his retirement from TMS in 2020, citing recent heart surgery and the Covid crisis.
Of course that makes poor telly on his mate Farage's show.
Geoffrey Boycott is 80 years old.
Tune in next week when Nigel will tell us how it's only PC wokeness keeping Brian Johnson, Christopher Mertin-Jenkins, Tony Cozier and Bobs Woolmer and Willis off the airwaves.

The BBC may have wanted commentary on the game in progress too.
As opposed to Geoff's "My ten best innings" recollections.
At least Freddie Trueman had the decency to be thoroughly pissed by the third session, which left room for a little hilarity.

Farage hasn’t been paid so he’s whinging to his house paper. They can’t be bothered with him either. You
GB News viewing figures: Nigel Farage has NOT paid off for GB News - true impact laid bare
But while it may seem that Mr Farage has managed to reignite GB News from its dimming embers, this is not the case.
Average viewing figures posted on August 13 show he failed to match up to the BBC last week.
When Farage started at 7pm on August 12, 64,000 viewers had tuned in, while 114,000 people
The figures also show GB News is still losing viewers, with the average number of people tuning in having dropped by more than 20,000 per day since its debut in June. https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/14775 ... y-News-evg

Two old has beens grumble about former world top-ranked bowler with M.Phil in neuroscience.
Isa Guha was on TMS today and provided excellent coverage of the ball by ball of the current game as it happened.
Quite a contrast with Boycott's "T'were better in my day" flat cap and whippet Yorkshire bollocks.
