The problem at this point is Goodwin won’t mention anyone who went to say Bournemouth (it’s my place of Graduation) but I’ll happily call his work garbage, I did sample a page or two and it felt dubious at best.

There looked like there was nothing that had much gone into this “new elite” and I think basically if you match any two very vague points you were “new elite”.

I’m not going purchase it but I assume it’s pseudo usuage of words and very little data that adds up to much over its 200 odd pages. Though one thing seems apparent, someone’s over ordered it.

The New Elite routinely display a prejudice toward workers, non-graduates & conservatives

Most conservative non-graduate workers believe those with all the dosh are the elite. And will still believe that if they go to study the subject at lefty universities. But give those with the dosh a posher title like ‘owners of the means of production, distribution and exchange.’

People with glasses.
People who sass me.
People having fun.
People who look like they're having better sex than me.
People who crack jokes I don't get.
People who blank me.

That's all his new elite are.

What power does Laurie Penny have? I haven't seen anybody mention her for ages. I've at least heard of Robert Webb recently, but I'm not really sure what power he has either. He's a comic actor who's written an autobiography.

What's the evidence either of them, or James O'Brien or anyone else, hate non-graduates?

Especially considering his entire position and authority (such as it is) are based on his academic record.

TBF, Liz Jones has actually lived in Yorkshire and on Exmoor. As I recall, her reaction to both wasn't far off the above. But still, batshit as she is, she does tend to put her money where her mouth is.
