Well, two responses to that :

1. I don’t believe it. The original explanation, that he lacks the financial wherewithal to meet the required threshold for Coutts customers, is marginally more credible.

2. So fucking what? We already knew that Farage is a racist cunt. Coutts was quite right, and within its rights, not to offer him banking facilities. So suck it up, Farage, you racist cunt.

I saw Coutts as the sort of bank someone like Farage would go to and so did he. Why would someone with a spare £3m to tuck away be bothered about a free market headbanger being a fellow customer?

And as Coutts include the king and several members of the royal fambly (gawd bless 'em) among their customers they might well want to weed out a few undesirables now and then to ensure they retain the more prestigious accounts.

At PMQs today Ricki seemed to be indicating that Coutts could be forced to take Fargle back. Government interference in a private business, eh?
