Sen. Mitch McConnell rebuked a lawyer associated with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for his efforts to rescind approval of the polio vaccine.

The 82-year-old Kentucky Republican, who survived polio as a child, also urged Kennedy, President-elect Donald Trump’s controversial pick for secretary of health and human services, to clarify his own position on the matter.

What infuriates me with RFK jr and his idiotic plans is the collateral. If some science-denying conspiracy fuckwit wants to down a pint of raw milk and shit themselves inside out, they can go for it and self-select themselves out of the gene pool. It’s their kids who have no choice, and the wider population who will lose out on herd immunity and the benefits of fluoride and the like who I absolutely feel for.

The “best” case scenario here is that something awful happens very quickly, ideally to someone (in)famous in their camp, and less batshit people get to take charge again to clean up the mess and limit the damage. And it’ll still inevitably mean many kids either dead or with life-changing issues because their parent thinks a guy with a brain worm is a more reliable source of healthcare information than actual doctors.

I know it's probably the usual bollocks from the demented old tit and this is purely hypothetical, but say if the US did invade one of those countries, they'd have to lose the Olympics in 2028, wouldn't they? Russia's been blacklisted from pretty much every sporting event so the same would apply to America as well, or would they get a pass from the sporting bodies? They've also got part of the World Cup in 2026, but given the way FIFA chooses hosts nowadays they'd probably let them keep it.
