Apologies.
History Reclaimed. Where are the historians? Just lots of people on the political right, hence I put it in this thread.

I'm sorry, I'm still not getting it.
What is History Reclaimed? Is it some non-revisionist rightwing mob?

Tubbs - to be honest I think you are winding me up.
What was the reason for the original post? What am I missing?

Just thought it an interesting « those on the political right » thing. No other reason.

I have to say that it's easy to forget that not everyone here has a twitter account. As you can't go in as a guest to view threads, it's a bit pointless putting up a tweet which would be all someone without an account would see.
Just like putting up links, a bit of context makes all the difference. Not much, just why it's important, funny, shocking etc.
I must admit, I had that problem with Twitter when I was able to access the so-called conversations.

This whole business of aggressively lobbying for a "history that shows our side in a good light" is another US import.
Over there it's served up with generous portions of "won't somebody think of the children".
The children will be upset if taught history that contains uncomfortable facts.
You will upset them by diminishing their heritage.
So you can't say anything negative about Slavery, the Indian Wars, Segregation, Lynchings, the KKK or Senator McCarthy.
I'm sure they were all doing their best ....

In my simple world; it’s the Mail telling it’s readers to complain about the National Trust “going woke”, without any understanding of the subject matter

This. Damned if I'm signing up to Space Karen's outfit just to find out what someone I've never heard of has to say.

If a Twitter comment is reposted on here, surely it is pleasing for anyone of this persuasion that they will remain blissfully unaware of who said what.
A win-win for the congenitally obdurate.

Look at these fucking racist liars. And Tory MPs are happy to be associated with this stuff?
Islamic finance is more expensive, and not very many Muslims in Britain use it.

Anyone can apply for Sharia mortgage it’s a sleight of hand leasing system to avoid the concept of usury. Popular with Catholics, Chinese and Indians in Malaysia and Singapore.

There was a very enjoyable response from Melanie Phillips when asked ‘What about Beth Din courts?’ ‘Blurble, err, splutter, err.’

Mr Sked is the former UKIP leader who surfaces occasionally to claim he’s not as looney as Farage. It’s not true and never was.
