That’s why people like 30p become local councillors, because they’re “one of us” and can act Billy Big Bollocks, no need to prove your credentials, get enough momentum behind them to stand for Parliament, then they find out that representing all your constituents, and understanding/ enacting government policies, isn’t the same, the world is bigger and more complex than Sherwood ‘Spoons

We need to find a way to trick Lee Anderson into doing this.

Lee Anderson to down a pint of legionella to prove it's fine like a meat-sweaty John Selwyn Gummer.

I remember Lee being pulled up by a local news presenter on his scam with the fake swing voter. Lee's response was "Have you never told a lie?" Not as a candidate in a general election. she hadn't.

Currently watching Lee Anderson's Real World on GBeebies. A car crash.

The first feature was Left In The Corner; 30p sat opposite a right wing wonk while an old boy sat in the corner nursing a pint of Stella and occasionally being allowed to talk.

Next up is Wokey Of The Week. This week's winners were NHS doctors who "won't ask trans patients their names". He undermined his argument repeatedly, for instance pointing out it was an "unofficial rule" which is therefore clearly not a rule.

Time for an anecdote. "When I worked in the pit the first thing we did with someone who was unconscious was to ask their name". How does that work? What relpy do you get? From memory, check it is safe to approach, announce who you are, pinch an ear lobe to confirm they are unresponsive and then check the ABCs.

And then we get a real person, a cabbie from Rainham. Standard ULEZ bashing then on to Notting Hill Carnival which apparently needs to stop at 8PM. Bearing in mind that the music goes off at 7 that seems rather redundant. I'd also call shenanigans on the cabbie claiming to work Carnival every year. Seems a bit of a trek for fares which he considers nothing but trouble.

Now we are speaking to a former gymnast who speaks about the abuse that occurs in the sport. Lee clearly had zero interest in that; straight on to "this bloke, yesterday he was Trevor and now he is Tina". In the swimming pool. According to the interviewee they just "have to grow out their hair and tuck in their bit".

Cunty Cunterson.

Mailwatchers ramping up Leeanderthal's ratings?

That should be a straight red, and don't try it on with the Pete Townshend defence.

Guilty as charged. I have let you all down and won't be appealing the red card.

Well I for one thank Soulboy for his review, due to his selflessness, my screen remains unsmashed and spittle free.

Who was the lefty desperate enough to appear, Owen Jones?

Would anyone watch a left leaning GB News? If the quality was very high and the reported news is made up of indisputable facts (albeit selected ones) then maybe.

No, because these "news discussion" shows aren't my dance. I just don't see the appeal in watching a bunch of talking heads violently agreeing on shitty takes on world events.

I get the "why" - cheap telly, legitimises extreme views etc. Just not my thing.

LBC is as far to the boundary a news organisation should be able to go without losing its licence. A range of talking heads and strict Chinese walls with the ‘on the other hand’ news reporting. I understand GBNews is generous and polite to lefty talking heads they approach to appear on the channel ‘to provide balance.’

This is great.

Lee is reduced to "you came her in a diesel van (to a bloke who seems to be disabled and doesn't look wealthy), so you're a net zero hypocrite". This is oddly at variance with the stance on ULEZ.

The bloke points out that Lee has lots of money and he claims this because he "worked down the pit" and saved. The bloke isn't having it.

I notice that Mr Anderson didnt mention the fee he picks up for his regular media work on top of his salary as an MP.

Labour MPs who lost Red wall seats just have to sit tight for five years but it’s unlikely Anderson will ever get an opportunity to re-enter parliament. Or even find a councillor vacancy. A future of getting pissed in Wetherspoons with Paul Nuttall reminiscing about 2016 when ‘we showed ‘em.’

Nor did he correct the chap when he was £10k too low on an MP’s salary

Anderson quite clearly has absolutely no ability to empathise or tactfully deal with anyone who disagrees. He was put in place to stir up culture war nonsense as a distraction, but I think he’s rapidly becoming a liability because he’s not a distraction - his ham-fisted gobbing off is the story itself.

It’s also unlikely to work well in a GE setting when you’re out attempting to charm constituents, as they don’t usually react well to being told to fuck off.

They might see him as a John Prescott type, missing the point that Prescott, for all his rough edges*, was a solid backroom dealmaker and great at hammering out compromises.

*And in all honesty, reading some of his "legendary gaffes", he comes across as rather ahead of his time, given the absolute stream of consciousness word salad many current politicians spout.
