Only the Brexit Party had saved the seat for Labour in 2019. So I think the result was a fair bit less "seismic" than it was made to look at the time. The Tories have no chance of holding it now. Some reallignment.

I'd also throw in holding the by election on the same date as the Mayoral letion plus the choice of candidate.

Yeah it was a vaccine high that started to wane way before “partygate”, oddest thing is Hartlepool looked massive at the time but holding Batley & Spen seemed to be the point where stuff changed.

If the Tories continue bowling long hops, Sir Keir will put them away all day.

Are the Tories going to back this hard? Greg Hands certainly did. Don't know who the new chair is. Are they bothering?
Sir Keir doesn't really have to do anything here. Let them punch themselves out. Not even rope a dope needed. They'll just fall over by themselves.

Per Sam Freedman, even if the wife doesn't work at all, the husband's salary puts them in the top 10 percent for incomes.

Aye. I hope I'm alone in surmising that since there is a kid there, those two must have (ahem) done it at least once.
Then, take my tip - do NOT try to envisage the bloke's sex face at the moment of conception.

The one on the left looks like one of those pictures where you turn it upside down and it's still a face.

As an attempt at a vote-winning tactic, putting out an article saying “very well off and very obviously Tory family will have marginally less disposable income” is certainly an intriguing gambit…

This is pure fish-in-a-barrel stuff. Who, in the name of {Multiple-Guess bit of this post}, was expecting an Ascot tory couple to be anything other than pot ugly?

Sir Keir was well out of order to talk about McCarthyism, say the Telegraph who've singled out a person who works for the National Trust for having had a job in the past.

A blue tick went to bat for this Telegraph campaign, showing up that she was anti benefit scrounging conspiracy theorist.
Basically plain nasty, also the fact she was pleading poverty with a blue tick was in itself rather amusing.
