Is he one of the "15% pay rise" crowd?
I bet Mark Drakeford loves that campaign.
Tubby, have you just admitted that you didn't really know who he is?
Bizarre!

I wish I'd never mentioned him!
I've seen him a lot on Twitter, and his blog. I don't know every position he has. The Campaign Group generally, to whom he's sympathetic, support 15%. I guess he might as well.

Who is this Phil BC? Clicking on his profile link just takes you to a picture of the last five Tory PMs and an advert for a book. Is there any reason I'm supposed to take what this person says seriously? If so, what?
He is a longtime Labour activist who runs a relatively high profile left wing blog (http://averypublicsociologist.blogspot.com/), which was occasionally covered on the old Mailwatch forum.
I used to quite enjoy his insights, but I lost interest once the Corbyn experiment went pear-shaped and he seemed to become increasingly bitter.
Oh, him!
A Corbynite tosser as I recall.
We really must apply the ABC of reliability round here.

His blog used to be a reasonably decent read on occasions, especially when covering the minutiae of being a Labour Party activist in Stoke-on-Trent over the years - a particularly tough gig for him considering how the political landscape there looks post-Corbyn/post-Brexit.

In other Starmer-related news.......
Earlier today, whilst perusing the latest reviews on a music blog, I came across an instance of somebody disparaging the slightly bland new Manic Street Preachers single as being "an absolute Keir Starmer of a song".
Which rather begs the question - what on earth would an absolute Jeremy Corbyn of a song sound like?
Or even more intriguingly, an absolute Ed Miliband of song?

Queen's Thank God It's Christmas?
Or is that a criminal record

Joan Baez wearily droning "We shall overcome" ad nauseum.

Spaceman by Babylon Zoo. A lot of people initially very excited by something that turned out to just be the intro, whereas the actual, real song was plodding, droning, awful rubbish - all served up by a man utterly misled about how his brilliance was the reason he was currently enjoying so much fame and attention, rather than it being a quirk of fate/blind luck.

You never see much of Jaz Mann any more, not since Jez Man rose to prominence.

Hah, this is a great song for metaphors actually. The intro is the only thing people remember, surely.

I chose Three wheels on my wagon for similar reasons. And has a story narrative mirroring Corbyn’s.

My example of an intro which promises so much but fails to deliver may be controversial (and has nothing to do with Corbyn). Gimme Shelter, the intro may be the Stones finest minute. The song, when it comes is pretty average Stones of the era but with the vocals so low in the mix to render the lyrics unintelligible. All foreplay, no climax.

Can't agree. The intro is the best bit but the whole song is a cracker.

I rather liked the remixes that were abundant at the time. Ditto: Laurie Anderson, with cherry sauce and a flake.

Well, they've gone. How will Labour manage without Chris Williamson supporters and people who say Assad's only killing terrorists?

As you'd expect, the BTL Brains Trust are a treat. Not the slightest attempt to engage with what these groups are. Memes and "you're behind in the polls".

Barely adult. But I suppose quite interesting that Lavery sees this lot as "own troops".

If he were feeling mischievous, Lavery could cause a lot of headaches for Starmer simply by quitting as an MP and forcing a by-election in yet another Brexity Red Wall seat, especially if he then stood under a 'Real Labour' banner or some such bollocks.
I suspect the good people of Wansback would be glad to see the back of him, regardless.
