Dozens of Labour and Tory ex-ministers don’t recognise the picture Raab paints of the civil service (including Dowden on Ridge sounding quite the grownup juxtaposed with Raab). Rees-Mogg agrees with Raab as does Richard Littlejohn, GBNews gobshites and probably someone on Loose Women.
Place your bet on which picture’s likely to be accurate.

Responding to his decision to quit as an MP, fellow Conservative Angela Richardson tweeted: "His constituents will miss his dedication.

Don’t know much about Raab’s dedication to his constituents but let’s hope it’s stronger than it is to Afghans who put their lives on the line to help British troops.

A sad end to a glorious career or is that a glorious end to a sad career or just and end to a sad career?

Achieved the total sum of nothing and yet held several positions including one great office of state.

Interesting that in 2019 though his majority was low he was foreign Secretary and probably expected another decade in office.

4 years down the line he knows he is done for even in a party that would have rehabilitated him if it wasn’t knowingly heading to defeat.

Anyhow Esher and Walton - LD Gain.
