The truth is always more messy, of course.

The thing that needs to be punctured is that the right claim 'authenticity' for their own, whilst the left is all 'elitist metro types' etc. Bullshit. They ignore reality just as much as those they profess to combat, and have the added bonus of generally being too fucking thick to realise it (thinking the Tory party itself here, more than the 'average right winger'. As we know too well, the left is full of dullards too...).

Good thread here. Even in 2019, Labour was more popular than the Tories with working age voters up to £40k, and competitive up to £70k.

Pensioners are a disaster.

Matt’s now a centrist woke.

If I'm reading this right, Mattie has a problem with brown people tweeting stuff about England being multicultural. Stuff which is unlikely to alienate anyone except those 10% (his figure) who believe England should be a whites-only country.

Why do I get the feeling that Mr Goodwin might actually be one of those 10%?

So it's bad because hardly anyone would disagree with it? The what?

I think he means that taking a position against racism wii alienate people who are against racism.

He's either mad or just making up lies to cover his own racism.

It's very much like the laddish lads who don't have a problem with Kick It Out, but that BLM mob are divisive. They should just keep quiet and do what we tell them.

"We're not racist, we've never kicked a black guy's head in!"

"Stop banging on about it, or we'll get angry!"

That’s some tenuous whataboutery. The crime report is a standard modest write-up when a trial could be pending. Matt’s followers see it as the BBC being nice to Muslims again.

Matthew will doubtless spend as much time on this as "woke".

Strikes me Matt Goodwin is very good at focusing on one thing and not the other, i.e. 'here is what people say about generic shit, this is really important', and not so good at looking at why, and how these opinions and their genesis relate to, er, anything else. Just the same tired clichés going round and round.

Kinda like playing cricket and being caught out and then yelling at the umpire 'BUT I HIT IT!!'

A good example of low-level thinking skills. Or possibly of pandering to the LLTS of his readership.

Professor Matt faces up to the big Brexit issues. Like "look at this clever clever literary Remainer wrong un". I'm wondering whether any of his followers ever said anything bad about Britain when Labour were in government. I bet he'd have given them a right rocket if they had.

And given Mantell mentions this government, I'm not sure she's dwelling on history as much as he thinks she is.

Yet again, seeing this country's flaws is to be unpatriotic, anti-working class and self-loathing. Plus something about immigrants.

Mantel got some flak a few years ago when she said that royal princesses were basically just baby machines and clothes horses. Cue outrage from the Mail and Express, in between their "Katie's cuties" and "Zara steps out in a stunning dress" articles.
