To see the current state of play with Musk, it's all there in this woeful "anti-woke" cartoon that his platform X is proud to host:
Most notably in the preposterous AI generated theme song which has, I kid you not, literal lyrics of:
"Thank god for Elon Musk and his shitpost memes
X is the home of free speech!"
No wonder Ianucci packed it in. Beyond parody.

The Rodney Dangerfield bit in Natural Born Killers was funnier than that.

Earlier Musk was tweeting about a new Labour MP who apologised yesterday about some tweets she posted 10 years ago. Is Musk really spending hours searching out these stories or is there somebody in this country actually feeding him these stories?
Musk is clearly desperate for Trump to win the presidential election so that he can continue to run his business as usual. But if Trump loses Musk could have problems. He has already picked a fight with Starmer and I'm sure he has pissed off a number of other world leaders by sticking his nose into domestic politics. If all the leaders he has annoyed began to work together Musk could soon get his wings clipped.

He royally had his pants pulled down over being forced to buy Twitter, and treating it as his personal fiefdom has alienated advertisers and haemorrhaged even more revenue . His only hope of saving any kind of face and dosh is allowing dark money agents to prop him and the site up and allowing it to be their sordid town square of disinformation.

Perhaps it’s someone over there

He's piped up again and, because of him and him alone, the American terminally online far Right are piling in on Starmer and us as a country. We, the UK, seem to be under some sort of social media attack led by Musk. He's properly set his sights on Starmer, and us, and is determined to convince everyone that 'The UK has fallen'
What will/can Starmer do about this? It's a genuine threat and could easily spark off more riots. I said earlier that I didn't want Starmer to respond directly to Musk, but I'm changing my mind now. Musk, in whatever drug or ego fueled sate he's got himself into, has decided he's powerful and rich enough to try and overthrow our Government with his perceived influence. Time to clip his wings somehow, Keir. This is getting ridiculous now.

I know it can just be shrugged off as random social media posts but it isn't. Millions and millions of people will see this and believe it. Without question. This freak needs some sanctions. Would be nice to be part of the EU at this point.

The way Musk goes on about the British Criminal Justice system you would think that the American Criminal Justice system was perfect. In America two tier policing often leads to black suspects being killed or badly beaten up by the police.

I'm going to watch 'Don't Look up' again tonight. When I last watched it I was amused by the portrayal of the billionaire bad guy and it did a really job of putting all the real life tech billionaires into one character. Musk/Zuckerberg/Gates/etc. But now, it's just Musk isn't it? I'm not seeing Zuckerberg, for example, acting the fucking clown right now. Musk has made a point of being the unhinged rouge techbro that the character was based on.

The UK falling to Brexit and Johnson’s premiership was a big prize for the global populist right. Trump and Le Pen have defeats under their belts but still strong enough to fight another day. Starmer however gave the populist right the mother of all shellackings and they are very pissed off. And as the alt right saw Brexit as an omen and inspiration for Trump’s victory, the parallels drawn between Keir and Kamala Harris won’t be putting a spring in their step.
There were a number of cranky US loud mouths given entry bans under the Major and Blair governments and Home Secretaries didn’t make a big public deal about it. Starmer doesn’t have to either, clip Musk’s wings by banning him from this country and quietly move on.

He's getting into a bit of a Fuck Around and Find Out situation now, surely. Yeah we get it, you're very rich and powerful, but he seems to believe he can take on literal First World Governments via meme wars on his new toy. These countries spend far more than his entire net worth in a single year. Delusions of grandeur doesn't even come close to this downward spiral he's in!

To me, Musk, on the one hand, sees himself as “President maker”, with the added bonus of lots of handouts and under the table power if his man wins; and on the other hand has developed some god complex in that he thinks he can bully the rest of the world ( except Putin!)

He's just so desperate to be validated by being correct (in the broken clock sense) or liked (even with all those sycophants and hangers-on orbiting around his wealth).
It'd be almost tragic if Musk wasn't so unlikeable or had the means and resources to get himself emotionally healthy, or even just improve the material conditions for a lot of disadvantaged people around the globe (he made a grandiose claim a few years ago that if the WHO presented him a figure for solving world hunger, he'd pay. They did, he didn't, and has since refused to acknowledge that exchange ever happened).

Also, Musk thought he'd got "Tech Bro Richie Rich" in his pocket, now he's fucked off out of No 10, Elon's not going to get any handout from us for his vanity projects, hence the hissy fit
