I fear that base already thinks that. It's electorally weird. Surely their gambit is their fantasy will work, and thus growth thus hurrah riches for... Well, the 2%.

Lower taxes distract from rising costs and deterioration of public services, and come the next election they hope survivor bias ("it can't have been that bad - I'm still here") kicks in.

Giving people money back is an interesting tactic when your actions make that money - and the vast sums of wealth they already have - worth less and less.

10 grand in tax saved is not to be sneezed at. But will it really mean wiping millions off of currency portfolios and investments is forgiven?
