I seem to recall Cameron crowing across the despatch box about how they were good for business with so many new businesses starting up under them...

... most of which were one man bands formed out of industries they'd done their best to weaken/destroy.

He's still hurling on the ditch, it's just a different ditch.
To his credit, he did fuck off and join the Tories.
I don't think he did. Hitchens the Lesser has never been a member of the Conservative Party.

Given his remarkable hindsight and never being wrong, plus his love for mid 1950’s, I’m sure he’d have positioned himself as MacMillan’s DomCum

I admit to a rather weird fascination with Peter Hitchens. His entire existence appears to be utterly consumed with trying to convince anyone and everyone that Britain is a terrible place and that because he was once a commie, he has a unique insight into where it all went wrong. His Twitter presence is a sight to behold where no slight, no counter argument and no criticism goes unchallenged. It must be exhausting being Peter Hitchens.

Funnily enough, while he saw the light and overcame his youthful communist urges, he seems incapable of believing that anyone else can do the same.

Only about half the British intelligentsia managed the same feat, after all.

A guaranteed method of getting under his notoriously thin skin is to refer to him as a writer for the Daily Mail. Hitchens, of course, makes a massive deal about being a writer for the Mail on Sunday which, in his mind it seems, is a vastly superior, infinitely more cerebral and serious publication. Never mind that on Mail Online it all looks the same.

I see his current idiotic argument boils down to 'imperial measurements are hardly used by anyone, so they should be kept because of their uniqueness', with the rebuttal to anyone that suggests having standard units is a good idea that we don't all speak the same language and have a single design of building.

He really is an astoundingly silly man. Which is why I'm delighted he's aligned himself with the anti-covid cranks while still having had the vaccine. It shows everything you need to know about him - arrogant, ill informed, unwilling to learn yet hyper-opinionated on the one hand, and an absolute coward and a hypocrite on the other. His cash is nowhere near his gob, and never will be.

A sad day. Liz has thrown one of her many hats in the ring with the commies so Mister Hitchens is done with the House of Windsor.

I regret to tell you Peter Hitchens has been telling rail experts how it's done on Twitter.

Reopen the Great Central Line, apparently.

Pulled by a steam train, no doubt. Has he suggested bringing back open-top 3rd class cattle trucks?

Each train to have at least one twinkly-eyed and well dressed old chap to tip his hat and smile as the train passes a group of wholesome, waving kids on the embankment.

I get the feeling his view of railways is inspired by one too many Don Breckon paintings.

and he'll claim to have won the argument by saying he's the only one who can name the third guard travelling on the Flying Scotsman, on the 3rd November 1961......(sit down Mr Boiler!)

My only claim to fame where 60103 is concerned is that I was on the board the train hauled by it where Alan Pegler's ashes were scattered on the fire as it climbed Stoke Bank.

The batshittery gets turned up to 11. You know they're getting desperate when they accuse Tony Blair of being a radical lefty!

If we get revolutionary Sir Keir Starmer for a decade, we'll look at Boris Johnson's years as a Golden Age

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/arti ... n-Age.html
Do you have any idea who Keir Starmer really is? Did you know he belonged to a Marxist faction, obsessed with Green policies and sexual revolution, well into his adulthood – and has never said he was wrong?
???

A whole article of utter drivel. Space-filling at it's worst. Another normal day on Daily Fail island.

It's the same old same old from Hitchens who, he might have possibly previous mentioned, is uniquely qualified to spot unreformed Trots because he once one as well, you know. He made it to the other side but the likes of Blair and Starmer are merely masquerading as moderates whilst plotting a communist takeover.
Arrogance is a key characteristic of the legions of right wing bullshit merchants battling to be heard over one another but Hitchens has taken it to another level.

He enjoys throwing these predictions around

Do his readers assess Hitchens' form based on his backlog of chicken brained prophecy?

But...but.... SHE WAS A TROT!!!!!!! Never mind that her and the rest of them are now so right-wing that they're in danger of falling off the edge, SHE WAS A TROT!!!
