Slow news weekend, grab the headlines, story builds for a few days, pressure on the government, "Calling it off to stop my family worrying".
Alternatively, lying old twat gets ignored.

What pressure on the government? First of all, define common sense.

Have you ever eaten in Blackpool?
Starvation is a viable option.

I had reasonable fish and chips there once.

Most of the GB News presenters such as Lee Anderson, Jacob Rees-Mogg and Farage have spent years calling for benefit cuts and cuts to public spending but as soon as Labour implement cuts they call foul. What a bunch of opportunistic hypocrites.

It’s because of the stage 2. For the tories, benefit cuts were always followed by a little windfall - a tax cut here or an allowance there. For Labour - who want to balance the books rather than just shovel cash at their mates, benefit cuts mean shit is really bad that can’t be fixed by better management and fairer taxation alone. But there’s no perk.
That’s what pisses them off.

They were keen to tell us British workers weren’t getting paid enough so we need to halt immigration to cause artificial shortages in the labour market. Obtaining the same result through collective bargaining is however very bad. It’s as if the Brexit Tories and Reform are full of shit.

The only GBeebies subject where Darren Grimes is the most credible talking head.
Eamonn Holmes and his fellow GBeebies travellers who "Wouldn't date Taylor Swift".
They consider themselves original and edgy.

Laughed at someone who claimed the original Podcasters were Derek and Clive. A younger co host asked who they? Best not go there, was the reply.
In the next couple of weeks 78 year Mr Durant's hunger strike will have lasted as long as 27 year old Bobby Sands's but no news of his health from GBeebies.

Appeals to 'common sense' usually entail disingenuously, or through pure ignorance, simplifying the problem to the point where your simplistic solution starts to fit. Utterly pointless.

As I think we all should know, the notion of "common sense" does not actually exist in reality.

"Common sense would suggest that, but.." politely cushions the blow when explaining to a dimwit a view they hold dear is demonstrably wrong.

One thing I like about appeals to common sense is the supreme arrogance of it.
'cos everyone else agrees with me', is what it means in political terms
Sounds pretty patronising to me, chum

Common sense is from the same root as "real communism".
Ideas that work in a small motivated community of similar minded and resourced people.
They don't scale up to a national population with standard ratios of cunts, users and other wrong-uns.
OK for running your "off grid" commune.
Shit for anything approaching a town council's scale.

This bloke is basically appears to be on hunger strike to protest against things he has been told by the grifters and shysters on GBNews.
