Not sure if this should go in the Very On-line Left thread.

A self-styled social media influencer really should check his facts before posting.

There's a lot of this stuff doing the rounds, including allegations of secret visits to prison by Yvette Cooper. It's transparently lies invented by the Fash. Problem is, when you point that out on social media, you get asked "well, why aren't they denying it?" as if dignifying it with any kind of response would do anything but amplify it.

Social media is jammed with this sort of "made up shit".

BADPOLITICIAN interacted with VILLAIN who DID UNSPEAKABLE MADE UP SHIT.

Some online creep (whose mum still cuts his hair) will support this with a cherrypicked excerpt from a very old video.
It is amplified by "The algorithm" (alternatively re-tweeted by the world's Richest man).
The cult then pile in telling us they're fummin or dis-kus-tid. *
It spreads.

* A rare example of gender specific language; gammons typically fumm, while gamonetters usually dis-kust.

He's far-right isn't he? It's getting very hard to tell these days.

I really don't think Jim Ferguson* is interested in your so-called-lefty-facts, there's no money in them.

I don't know. On his twatter profile he says he's the founder member of some anti-globalist social justice thing, which doesn't sound very right-wing to me. But as you said, they're getting very hard to tell apart.

Hmmm, in my experience anti-globalists tend to be full-on neo-Nazi "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" pedlars, often (but not always) American.

I thought anti global corporations stuff was a Corbynite schtick.

I don't have much personal experience of fash, and I'd quite like to keep it that way.

I believe that this anti-globalist bilge is usually referencing the Rothschilds and George Soros. "Jews", for short.

Yep, the Jews control global banking, the media and the weather - I kid you not, climate change is being faked by the Jews to force Christians (aka White People) to pay more tax. As I said it's basically "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" with some updates for the 21st Century.

Which goes some way to explaining why I thought it was a Corbynite thing. What with the problems their rampant antisemitism caused the Labour Party, you should be able to forgive my confusion.

I think the highlight of that effort by Mr Ferguson is "where are the other 9?"

That's even better than the made up deal done by the Tony Blair. And the idea that representing someone in court (which also never happened) is something that no lawyer should do.

John Bye is one of about 2 people I miss from Twitter. The other is a Tory councillor called William Barter who used to rip Sunak a new one every other day for the bollocks he talked about railways.

Things on Twitter, X, and BlueSky can now be added by putting the URL between tags. They can be accessed from the broken icon in the bar above the edit panel but which will be a wee telly.

As if by magic...

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Don't ask me, guv, just believe a little harder.
