Women in Ukraine are showing no-nonsense bravery but would the woke sisterhood here pick up an AK-47 to protect OUR nation?

Despite decades of feminist progression, my fear is that when push came to shove, our high-minded feminists would forget their notions of equality and leave it to the men.

They are only too happy to boast of equal rights but they’d baulk at brandishing a combat weapon.

I'm not really sure which country is planning to invade us but if it gets to the point that members of the public need to take up arms to defend this country we are well and truly screwed. I really can't see the likes of Boris Johnson and Jacob Rees-Mogg manning the barricades.

Of course, the country is awash with AK-47s, lying around just waiting to be picked up.

That's without considering which army that is still equipped with a weapon that was superseded years ago is likely to invade us.

Platell had never fought for anything in her life apart from relevance, and she didn't fucking win there either.

Her column is just weird. Half projection (I bet the feminists wouldn't grab a gun), and half playground whining ("See her? She's fat, she is.").

Can somebody explain Platell to me? Apart from being yet another gobshite Strine, I recall her being brought in by the Tory party a couple of decades ago but she seems to have risen without trace.

"Ploughperson" is a bit silly and uninventive (personally, I'd have gone with non-gender-specific agricultural worker), but I'm pretty sure that, far from being an ancient tradition, the ploughman's lunch was a marketing invention of the 'sixties.

I always thought Mail readers BTL were of the view that the owners of shops and pubs had the right to say and serve who they wanted to or not; you know, like refusing to bake a wedding cake for the gayz!
