The Tories have missed an enormous opportunity here. Ought to have hammered Reform on law and order and supported the Government.

And more from GB News. Starmer starting a war apparently. And the weird implication that Starmer wasn't too bothered with the murder in Southport.

Lee Anderson trying to defend the rioters is almost as piss poor as the Tories argument that Boris Johnson was ambushed by a piece of Birthday cake. I surprised that Anderson hasn't tried to to claim that these men in Rotherham were just taking a relaxing Sunday afternoon stroll in the countryside when a large hotel just happened to appear from nowhere.

Tom Swarbrick, although at times did allow himself to get shouted down, did handle this potentially iconic interview really well. Would have been a blood bath if it was O'Brien and it's a shame it wasn't, but as a relatively young journo he deserves credit for taking this on.

Farage wouldn't have appeared on O'Brien's show, he probably thought Swarbrick would give him a sympathetic easy ride.

True. Still didn't work out great for him, though  Swarbrick might be one to watch. I haven't actually seen much of him but when I do he's got potential.

One big growing problem for them to keep an eye on is the 'Tommy Robinson' and Farage beef.

Farage is desperately trying to distance himself from Robinson, Robinson keeps publicly calling out Farage for it, and the Robinson fans are getting really pissed off with it. And there's a huge crossover between Robinson and Farage supporters so it's going to cause all sorts of issues for them.

'The wrong crowd'. Amazing.

Who are these 'wrong crowd' lot then? I assume when asked to point them out Lee waves his finger over those rioting, looting and intimidating people, and the finger wavers over a hill in the background and he says 'they live on the other side of that, they go to another school. You wouldn't know 'em.'

Once, long, long ago, in halls, I was having a drink, late at night, with people post-club. Being a true philosophy undergrad I was nattering absolute shite about justice with a fellow pissed philosophy pseud.

Housemate turns around and says 'everyone in jail, just kill them. Why should I care?'

She was pissed as hell, but also... where the fuck did that come from?

And lo...

It's concerning that a sentence of two months was given to one young thug yesterday. I hope that's not a sign of things to come. It will deter zero knuckledraggers from turning out tonight.

He was charged with criminal damage, whereas most have been violent disorder or affray.

But it’s alright because her husband claims she looks after Bangladeshi children!

I think the child minding company she claimed to work for publicly disowned on Twitter yesterday so she won't be doing much child minding anytime soon. Actions have consequences!

Yes, but at least he wasn't thinking about disrupting traffic...

As far as the rioters go, it's Robinson's name they are chanting. Cut the head off by getting our security services to make him "disappear" in Cyprus. Find his body at the bottom of a ravine in a couple of weeks. It takes years to build up a reputation like his and there's only Tate really who could fill that void and hopefully he'll be doing a lengthy custodial in Romania soon.

Kind of absurd what a combination of revulsion and reading about the clashes of the past will stir in you. I keep looking at those lists of places due to be targeted, seeing if there’s anywhere near me and feeling like I ought to be there (I’ve even sent messages to friends who’d know), despite being 43, overweight and asthmatic, with dodgy knees to boot. It’d be like the poor sod who offers to lead the Forlorn Hope in an episode of Sharpe.
