Amongst many of the BBC SYB community it seems that any suggestion of not re-opening on 21/6 is absolute heresy.

Driving home from work on the Bank Holiday Monday just passed, I did notice the car park at the swingers' club on the A1 at Tempsford was full so I suppose they've re-opened...

Three people who harassed a head teacher about Covid testing at his school have been fined more than £2,000 each for breaking lockdown rules.

Andrea Rimmer, 39, Lisa Holt, 43, and Wesley Garner, 42, confronted staff at Calderstones School, Liverpool, where pupils were tested, on 9 November.

They filmed themselves in a car shouting through a megaphone that the virus was "a lie" and "a fraud".

One parent said she was "fuming", calling them "absolute idiots".

'Unbelievable'
The trio and a fourth person, who is yet to be identified, had turned up at the school on Harthill Road in Allerton after armed forces personnel arrived to help with coronavirus testing, which was voluntary and only carried out with the consent of pupils' parents.

It was part of a mass testing pilot being held across the city in November.

The group also harassed military personnel and surrounded the school's head teacher, with one of them saying: "If you are the head teacher, we will put you on notice, if anything happens to these children getting tested for Covid-19 - absolute disgrace, this will be going further."

One parent, Jo Fairclough, tweeted: "Fuming. This is my daughter's school and this head teacher is one of the best head teachers I've met.

"He does everything with the best interests of the students at heart and has handled the whole Covid situation excellently.

"What a bunch of absolute idiots, unbelievable."...

It may be wrong of me, but I derive some pleasure from the thought that morons like these are unlikely to get themselves vaccinated, and equally unlikely to obey any lockdown/distancing rules, so will suffer the most during the next wave. My sympathy will be reserved for the NHS staff who will have to care for them.

Am I going to hell when I think that these seem to intersect with "Alfie's Army" or whatever they called themselves a while back.

Sadly, Liverpool's not short of them. Speaking as a mother types.

From the experience of the ones I've dealt with, you spelt 'muvver' wrong.

As you can probably guess from the local infection rate here, I run into them with monotonous regularity.

Fiddleheads Cafe in Mendocino on Sunday put up a sign announcing the fee for customers who wear masks while ordering. In March, the cafe announced an ongoing 50 percent discount for those who throw their face coverings in the trash, said owner Chris Castleman, 34.

"It's about time that the proponents of these ineffective government measures start paying for the collateral damage they have collectively caused," the owner said.

The restaurant also planned to charge an additional $5 fee to those "caught bragging" about being vaccinated, according to a couple of the posted signs.

The number of people infected with coronavirus in the UK has risen by as much as two-thirds, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) says.

It estimates that around 100,000 people tested positive in the week to 29 May, or one in 660 people - up from 60,000 the previous week.

A growing proportion looked like they were the Delta variant, first detected in India, the ONS said.

Firstly people are allowed in pubs, secondary why would that matter to "our boys", maybe not booing them when taking the knee would be a better way of showing support.
