There is scope for a massive and hilarious backfire here. GB News viewers are likely to be the sort of deluded yet entitled arse who ends up with their sadface photo in the Mail linked to a spurious complaint story, but are *also* the sort of people who are quite in favour of one rule for them and one for others as long as they benefit. *They* aren’t scrounging, they just want what they deserve, *you* are a lazy layabout who needs to suck it up etc.

But - on the assumption no one who actually genuinely needs help on a real thing would call in to GB news, and it’s going to be a parade of huffy old colonels moaning about overgrowing hedges and potholes, or bigots tying themselves in knots trying to complain that there are people of colour living next door without openly admitting they’re racist - to appease the red meat audience GB news has he has to either throw the caller under a bus and tell them to ‘get a bloody job’, screw over Tory councils when it turns out Colonel Pothole lives in a true blue area, or tie himself in knots trying to appease a bigot without saying he doesn’t like black people either.

It’d be a nightmare in the hands of someone skilled and objective. In the hands of Lee, however, it’s more like letting a cocaine-fuelled herd of bulls loose in the ceramics wing of the V&A.
