I wasn't sure if that was a joke.
So I checked.
That'll be another nail in the BBC's coffin.

Not quite the approach to levelling up he had in mind...

Anyone think he will be next PM/Tory Leader?

Sunak and Truss are in a two horse race with the bookmakers, as that's where the money is going. Gove and Hunt are some distance behind. It won't be Hunt, he's of the same lightweight incompetent ilk as Hancock- it's almost as if they won a competition to be a cabinet minister.

I think Tory MPs would prefer Sunak, but the rank and file would want Gove. So Gove it will be, in my view.

I think Hunt has put enough distance between himself and anyone who remembers his ineptitude in post. He could well have a strong chance of it if the shires can't bring themselves to vote for Sunak cuz, yanno...

Gove has too much shit currently stuck to him, as well as widely being considered a weird looking fucker. Without Lady MacBeth aiding his push in the press, Murdoch is going to have to do a hell of a job to convince the public that Gove is electable.

Gove is too ugly.

Thing is, Hunt now looks like a genius against Hancock - which shows you just how lousy Johnson’s choices were given he was picking for loyalty rather than ability. But Gove was and is exceptionally unlikeable, and now with a clearly none too harmonious split from Vine, would be a massive liability if he ran for PM. Because she knows where the bodies are buried, and she would clearly relish letting everyone know. (And by bodies I mean small bags of what appears at first glance to be sherbet, and Mr Gove is alleged to have quite the sweet nose. Sorry, tooth.)

It's a nice idea but I can't see Gove getting the leadership if a vacancy emerges, he's repellent to the electorate and the Tories like winners. If Johnson goes - and I'm not yet confident he will - they'll go for another populist.
I'm not a gambler, but if I were, my money would be on Truss - she's vacuous, easily manipulated, not Asian, easy on the eye and a liar. The perfect replacement for Boris Johnson.

Pob, who has been extremely reasonable in recent refugee talk, dusts off his Arsene Wenger impression.

No-one raised security concerns over Lord Lebedev with me, says Michael Gove

Gove’s journalistic skills weren’t improved by his fat bungs from Murdoch. He sounded sheepish, as did Charles Moore on Any Questions. If the story going round about the Telegraph is true, that’s unsurprising.

Thinking again, there's a possible subliminal slip here by Pob.

Could it be that as relatively anonymous "Chancellor of the Dutchy", he was actually functioning as fixer, power broker and strategist for the government?
Unlikely, though it explains why people might have mentioned security concerns to him.

Could it be that Gove was kicked into an anonymous role, and permitted to fantasize that he was functioning as fixer, power broker and strategist for the government?

Saw somewhere else something saying this is almost classic Gove - self-deprecating, technically true, and deflecting attention like Captain America's shield does with bullets. Loathsome as he is, he's not stupid.

When you give hope to the poor by levelling up
When you offer safety to Ukrainian refugees by giving shelter & fruit picking jobs.
Yet they sneer at you.
Just like Jesus in the temple,Michael Gove lost his temper.
