I plan to go for a server move tomorrow evening and, while I am at it, an upgrade. If the site becomes unavailable, that'll be the reason.
Thanks for all of your hard work, Kreuzie.
See you on the other side, folks.

The DNS / Server switch is happening. If we go a bit wobbly, give it twenty minutes or so and we should be fine.

There might still be some signing in and staying signed in issues. It is advisable to clear your browser caches and to kill any remaining shortcuts, which might lead to the old structure and which has been toughened up with the new security protocol.
"Clear your browser caches" = google can point the way.
Thanks for everyone's patience, nonetheless.

How do we pay? That seems just to be an email address.

That is the email address linked to Paypal. If you don't have an account there, you can still use Paypal, so long as someone was daft enough to give you a credit card. (Please send to "Friends and Family", so I don't pick up any charges.)

I had a PayPal account, but dumped it years ago when some twat used it to buy about 800 quid’s worth of computing equipment and PayPal’s attitude suggested to me that that sort of thing happened every day (which it might well have done). I got the money back, but PayPal just seemed to me to be a shoddy and untrustworthy platform. It may have improved in the intervening years.

One can just use it as a payment gateway / processor. I use it several times a week, mainly for ordering beer and guitar deliveries.
Either which way, whilst it is always great to see these MW contributions, there is no pressing need.

I still can’t figure out how to send you the bread without having to “sign up” to PayPal. I’m not doing that. May be a touch of technofear on my part.

Not a fault with the forum, but I now see that embedded tweets (or "Xits") display a message that they can't be viewed unless I turn off "tracking protection", which I presume is due to several Firefox plug-ins I use to prevent cookie tracking from the likes of said platform. All I can say is "Fuck you, Nazi".
*Bluesky remains unaffected.
