Judge has suggested January 2024 for Trump's trial for the election interference case.
Trump's team have protested and said they want the trail date in April.
April 2026!
I suggest that these are not the actions of a confident legal team.

Typo there? 2016?

It’s 2026, but I wouldn’t put it past Trump’s team to try and set a date in the past.

It was indeed a typo, as Crabcakes says it should be 2026.

But he said he’s got irrefutable proof that he’s innocent, so why would you delay getting that out in the public domain

He was due to appear on TV detailing said irrefutable proof last night.
Mysteriously he has cancelled.
I think his legal team may have finally persuaded him to STFU.

He should have been told a long time ago that I want doesn't get.

If Trump's best hope of avoiding prison is to delay the Georgia case as long as possible, jumping up and down claiming to have all the evidence he needs to clear is name is not really a good idea. Surely the judge could just turn round and say OK lets bring the case forward so we can study this evidence.

Given that the delay will be due to giving the defence time to amass their evidence and construct their case...

I suspect the ‘irrefutable proof’ was him saying he didn’t do it, which someone is now probably explaining to him is not actually proof, no doubt using very short words and/or possibly pictures.

I'm reminded of the Peep Show "Sectioning" episode.
They could section you for trying to section me.

If you try to section me, you'll have crossed the line and I will section you so help me.

Guys, you've had your fun with the sectioning.

There's going to be no more sectioning today.
Just swap section for impeach.

I read that Trump is not doing the televised debates with other Republican potential nominees, de Santis et al, because he has such a massive lead in the opinion polls

Plus the orange from his jumpsuit compared to the orange of his face will make him look positively pale and wan.
