Judge has suggested January 2024 for Trump's trial for the election interference case.
Trump's team have protested and said they want the trail date in April.
April 2026!
I suggest that these are not the actions of a confident legal team.

Typo there? 2016?

It’s 2026, but I wouldn’t put it past Trump’s team to try and set a date in the past.

But he said he’s got irrefutable proof that he’s innocent, so why would you delay getting that out in the public domain

If Trump's best hope of avoiding prison is to delay the Georgia case as long as possible, jumping up and down claiming to have all the evidence he needs to clear is name is not really a good idea. Surely the judge could just turn round and say OK lets bring the case forward so we can study this evidence.
