I see that Tory MP Johnathan Gullis has responded to the governments call for ex-teachers to return to the profession to help cover for staff off with Covid by offering to work one day a week at a school in his constituency.

Whilst this is clearly a bit of good PR for Gullis I'm not sure if it is really a great idea for somebody to spend 4 days a week in London where Covid levels are still very high before then spending one day a week in a school with a thousand pupils and a hundred members of staff.

No one with a basic grasp of maths would go within a million miles of this plague pit.

That's now more than the population of Peterborough, or if you prefer, Sunderland..

Is anyone else having trouble inputting results from the new LFT tests onto their records?

I haven’t though they mailed me out of the blue an extra box of LFT for no reason.

So all restrictions bar the need to isolate will be removed next week.

The need to isolate will be ended on the 24th of March and not be renewed if not sooner.

The country still has 100,000 the pandemic worldwide is still killing hundreds of thousands and why is he doing this?

Because he is a corrupt lying fraud who is flatlining as leader.

Does he expect other countries not to react, I was hoping to be able to travel next year.

Foreigners don't vote here.

Angry people pissed off at foreigners for ruining their holiday plans do, and are likely to vote for his lot.

Consensus among my department directors (not experts in medicine but we design elfin safety frameworks for some pretty big cheeses so tend to err on the side of caution) is that the pork haystack is basically throwing us all under the bus as a distraction from his day-to-day calamities and so he can preen and grandstand about being "the great liberator" from COVID restrictions.

We will continue to wear masks and take other precautions for the foreseeable future.

Totally. By "taking all responsibility" he means taking all the credit for the good stuff, and sacking whoever he decides was responsible for any cock-ups.

D-i-l #3 and #1 grandson both tested positive this morning. We were with them at the weekend.

Mrs A & I tested negative.

That leaves us, #3 son and #2 grandson who haven't had it since December...

Yes, I'm inclined to see the "All restrictions off" as leaving us with out pants down and cocks in our hands when the Mu variant arrives.

There's also the "No restrictions, so what's the point of doing these tests".
Which feeds on to few samples to the labs, so late detection and analysis of the incoming Mu.

Absolutely:

Thre's massive difference:

1. Detecting a variant early, tracing back to case zero, IDing all carrriers, and installing all precautions. (Though the UK gov't would never do the later).

2. Observing that patients are dying at an increased rate, panicking, and cobbling a "let's do the show right here" response. (The sort of response you expect from "invisible hand" fans).

Also with 2, pausing while deciding how to monetize / politicize the situation.
