Her school doesn't actually select as much socially as I thought. It's FSM percentage is a bit higher than Brent as a whole. What she and people like Toby Young do is signal to lots of parents and kids that the school isn't for them, so that they don't apply. Some other school has to take care of them. Her school is right by Wembley Park Station, so that's very convenient for a broad catchment area. Can you do that outside London so easily? I doubt it.
Her school's gone much better than I thought it would, in terms of results, and I'm sure lots of parents like the ethos. My biggest problem with her is the implication that everywhere else in London is an educational disaster.

She's gaming the system.
If you have a parent from a lower socio-economic group they are likely to be FSM. So you look for those who score well in the other categories. Easily done.
I might be slightly impressed if she admitted pupils who were poorly motivated and engaged them, gave them self-esteem and purpose, and turned their lives around. Like we used to do at my school...

Yeah, she's not interested in pupils like that. I don't know how places are allocated.

I would imagine some parents will give the school a miss if they think their kids are going to be on the wrong side of the schools discipline system. No parent wants the school ringing them up everyday to tell them that their child is in detention yet again.
The results for the last two years have been determined by the school it will be interested to see what the results are like this year when the papers have been marked by outside markers.

Tony Robinson differs from Jordan Peterson, because Tony Robinson has a cunning plan.

As always, who are we talking about - da muzzies. Your average kid of West Indian family will know the words just fine.
Yes, people of colour can be racist and yes, Burbleysingh is.

The Social Mobility Commissioner for England there. In the meantime, both her and the Children's Commissioner (Dame Rachel de Souza) have said nothing at all about benefit cuts.

Because she doesn't care. She just wants to have a title and a platform.

Isn’t that what she was just promoting by lining up kids to sing God save the King?

People who you avoided at student parties, lest they corner you in the kitchen and try to seduce you by banging on about how brilliant they are. This is how they end up.

I saw the name and wondered "what this time?".
My over-active imagination conjured.
A compulsory nativity play.
Performed seven days a week, whether there's an audience or not.
In which the child actors are forbidden from speaking.

Ha ha.
She could speak to some union reps at her school, except there aren't any. Hilariously though the teachers are paid at national rates negotiated by unions.
