As is often the case in election campaigns as the Liber Democrats get more air time than usual their poll rating rises. This we are starting to see here. They are being very careful this time to really target their campaign at specific seats, and I would not be suprised if they picked up perhaps three maybe four times the number of seats they had in the last Parliament.

Davey's campaign is a canny one as it is attracting attention enabling him to then get onto the issues he wants to.

Clearly I underestimated their ability to win seats.

You only need a few good talkers.
The rest can sit and / or troop through the voting gates.

Meta global affairs chief Nick Clegg to be replaced by Republican Joel Kaplan https://bsky.app/profile/financialtimes ... rsqh42si2s

Which reactionary arseholes will Clegg be providing cover for next?
But having made over £100m from Meta, he could be Lord Clegg soon with his own foundation.

Cost of borrowing rises, let's cancel tax rises. I think they won't the IHT changes and VAT on private schools cancelled too.

What's their favoured "we'd just do this" tax these days? Share buy backs?
Lib Dems say chancellor should stay and make emergency fiscal statement and also cancel planned national insurance hike

It's the 'Liberal' bit of Liberal Democrats, I'd guess. It's up to them to decide whether giving tax breaks to private schools unfairly impinges on the liberal freedoms of people who don't or can't use them.
I'd also factor in something I've noticed amongst my (albeit small sample) experience of local Lib Dems: Their usage of minor public schools like Christ's in Brecon or Llandovery College is greater than one might consider random.

Davey wants Reeves to cancel the jobs tax and not go to China.
