He's got what he always wanted - to have been PM. He's got the portrait on the stairwell, the lucrative income streams, and is beholden to nobody. He's not doing the Heath-May sulk on the back benches; instead he has multiple platforms to tell his version of his story. And as I asked up thread, isn't he permanently banned from Parliament, or can that be lifted?

Johnson probably thinks that it can be, if he makes himself look indispensable enough. We all know that he either doesn't grasp or is insulted by the idea that rules have to apply to him.

I expect he'd be in for a shock.

A peerage would suit Johnson.
No need to worry about pesky elections.
Attend if and when he wants.
And a fancy title to impress American audiences with should enable him to raise his fees on the speaking circuit.
Baron Boris
Earl Alexander
Duke Johnson
Viscount de Pfeffel of Henley on Thames

You get the idea.

He can have one, on the condition it is Viscunt Johnson of Bell End. And it is mis-spelled exactly like that.

Not to mention jollies with the former mistresses he's previously ... err ... "ennobled". (Anag).

This all sounds very murky but Johnson has no decent reputation left to defend. Don’t know why Maduro made time in his diary for Bozo and his shady pals. Perhaps he doesn’t get many visits from Western politicians to chew the fat.

BBC News: Boris Johnson: Shameful to call for UK to end arms sales to Israel

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68748251

I find this particularly distasteful;

Mr Johnson said it was "shattering" to see the deaths, but Israel was sending warnings of their attacks and "trying to use precision munitions".

I believe Mr Armsteen has a phrase

Fuck that guy, and all the schemers who're paying him for "professional services".

Johnson didn’t show this level of commitment to foreign affairs when he was FS. Don’t know what his angle is poking his nose into this conflict as if his opinion mattered.

If this is them trying, god help us if they decide to be indiscriminate.
