We've returned from holiday to find a newspaper called The Light on our doormat.

https://thelightpaper.co.uk/ (Warning - link contains wibble)

Absolutely mental. Full of COVID, 5G, "globalist" conspiracy theories.

A few questions. Who are these nutters? Who is funding them? Is the bullshit they publish actionable?

And how was I lucky enough to get a free copy pushed through my letterbox?*

If that is issue 22 that must mean they have been publishing this guff for nearly 2 years. Coming up with two years worth of conspiracy theories really is some achievement.

I love the bit where it says 50p where sold. Does this mean that some people actually pay for this drivel?

Conspiracy theories eat themselves, and mutate more often than a virus in a chicken barn. They could go on for decades... and sadly, often do.

Not just writing about conspiracy theories but actively pushing them too. Including holocaust denial.

Well colour me stunned.
A UK conspiracy theory newspaper sharing calls for trials and executions of politicians and doctors has links with the British far-right and a German publication connected to a failed coup attempt, the BBC can reveal.

It seems it has an Irish counterpart, too; currently in the news for a false claim of - yes, you guessed it - "the vaccine killed your child".

The whole story is here and it's both tragic and disturbing.

And from that:
The Irish Light included Ms Campbell's son, Diego Gilsenan, and 41 others in an article last year which suggested the "untested and dangerous" Covid vaccine was to blame for the deaths. In fact, the BBC has been told Diego had taken his own life in August 2021, aged 18, and had not been vaccinated.
