Because banker Rishi speaks nice and wears a smart suit ‘the grownups are back in charge,’ claims Andrew Marr. That kind of vacuous commentary from ‘respected commentators’ has done more to legitimise rogues and zealots than Murdoch and Dacre. Sunak continues to spurt Johnson’s culture war shite and his hardline free market fundamentalism is far more controversial and dangerous than Johnson’s flash the cash populism.

The Red wall was Johnson’s trophy bride and it does make sense for the Tories to forget about it (apart from 30p Lee leading a token expeditionary force). There was never a cat in hell’s chance of Brexit voters in Surrey wanting to subsidise half empty fish factories in Grimsby.
The problem with the optics of inheritance tax cuts is that more loot for the toffs can quickly become ‘Labour will take your ma’s gold wedding ring.’

Tell me if the world’s changed but whatever trade you’re learning, a 16 year old trainee will do some maths on day/block release or get sacked for not turning up. Perhaps Rishi was let into Boris’s circle because they needed a girly swot who can do numbers.
